Counterbalance the Smith bar

1
Adjust the smith bar to the highest position and hook the left / right cable outlet to it.
2
Adjust both side of the weight stack to 18kg to totally counter the weight of the bar to make it 0kg. Lighter weight can be chosen to adjust the starting weight of the bar accordingly. For example, if the weight stack is set to 9kg, the empty bar will weigh around 9kg (18 - 9 = 9kg).

Adjust the cable arm height

Place your palm on the handle, and use 2 fingers to squeeze and pull the knob. When adjusting up, place your palm of the other hand below the bottom knob to assist in pushing it up.

Connect weight stack to the Smith bar

1
Adjust the Smith bar to the required position. This will be the lowest position of your exercise path.
2
Adjust the left / right cable arm to the closest height and attach the cable outlet to the hook.
3
Set the weight and start your workout.

For bench press, an additional step is required: After setting the weights, to lift the bar up to a higher point so that there is space for you to get in position.
For user who want max tension throughout, you can select the weight first then drop the cable arm one hole lower to tension the cable further.
